Our company is proud to be delivering a landmark urban infrastructure project involving the construction of cycle tracks and pedestrian pathways in the Hili and Al Foah areas of Al Ain.
This project covers an approximate network length of 40 kilometers, designed to promote sustainable mobility, enhance public spaces, and support healthy community lifestyles in line with Abu Dhabi’s urban development vision.
Al Shawamekh is a growing town in the middle of Abu Dhabi, It is situated in the southeastern part of the city and is known for its family-friendly environment and affordable housing options. The neighborhood offers a range of amenities and facilities to cater to the needs of its residents. Al Shawamekh has quickly become a popular choice for families and singles in search of a high standard of living due to its attractive housing options, plenty of services, and cohesive community atmosphere.
Al Shawamekh is well-connected to the rest of Abu Dhabi through various transportation options. The area is primarily accessible by road, with major highways such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Ain Road providing easy access to other parts of the city. Public transportation, including buses and taxis, is also available in the area.
The scope of works includes the construction of dedicated cycle tracks, pedestrian walkways, ramps, hard and soft landscaping, street furniture, road markings, directional signage, lighting systems, irrigation networks, stormwater drainage, sewerage and water utility protection works, telecom and electrical infrastructure, and associated civil and structural works.
The project also incorporates landscape development, shade structures, benches, cycle racks, crossing points, traffic safety barriers, street lighting, and utility relocations, all executed in accordance with ADQCC, DMT, Estidama, AACM, and relevant Abu Dhabi authority standards.
This development is aimed at creating a safe, modern, and environmentally sustainable cycling corridor that enhances connectivity and public realm experience across the Hili and Al Foah communities.
